I'm Off the Crutches-Super Eagles defender,Leon Balogun

Off the Crutches,Leon Balogun.
I just love this Balogun guy.I love his spirit and keenness to play for Nigeria even though he has never lived in the country.Since he had that injury playing for Nigeria on his debut,i have never heard him moan or feel sorry for himself.Always positive and talking about how proud and privileged it has been to play for Nigeria.I really do hope he makes the team.
Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, has revealed that he has dropped the crutches he was using to aide movement since he got injured in the international friendly between Nigeria and
Mexico earlier this month in Atlanta, United States.
Speaking from his base in Germany, Balogun declared that the rate of his recovery since the injury has been quicker than expected, expressing delight that he will be part of the Super Eagles pre-World Cup party in the United States in May if he is invited.
“Its been quite exciting for me and I have been in touch with the federation and Coach Stephen Keshi, they have been very nice too. I can’t wait to rejoin the squad when we reconvene for the World Cup”. The doctors confirmed that I had a broken toe but it was not fully broken and that is why I have been healing quicker than we even expected.
He also revealed that he will soon know the date that he can start kicking the ball by Friday this week (March 28), when his club doctors plus another doctor from Cologne who have been monitoring his recovery will give their verdict.
“By Friday I should be able to know when I can start my comeback with initial ball practice and minorrehabilitation exercises.
“Again, I want to thank the NFF for their huge support, the coach has also been calling me from time to time and it could not have been better than this”, he said. “If I’m lucky to be recalled I will be totally dedicated to helping Nigeria do well at the World Cup”.
