Nigerian police chiefs in emergency meeting over rising insecurity


Police authorities in three Nigerian States have converged on Kano state for a one-day security summit. The summit organised by the Nigeria Police, Zone One Headquarters addressed the problem of insecurity bedeviling the country.

It was reported that the summit had in attendance security officials, royal fathers amongst other eminent personalities from Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states

This security summit is the initiative of the Zone one Headquarters of the Nigeria police. It had in attendance Police officers, Army officers, Department of State Security operatives, other security agencies, the media amongst other participants drawn from Kano, Jigawa and Katsina States

The Summit set out to address terrorism and armed robbery amongst other problems confronting the nation.

Security chiefs present here are worried about the level of insecurity and are desperate for change. 

They believe that if the Muhammadu Buhari administration can reform the Judiciary and the Police crime rate will be brought down significantly across the country.

The summit highlighted issues like Cattle Rustling, Rape, Armed Robbery, and appraised anti-corruption efforts in the participating states.
