Two teenagers on a road trip with friends in Turkey died after being hit by a truck while attempting to take a selfie on a road. The pair were part of the group of five young men who had taken a hired car to travel on a trip from Alanya to Antalya, on the south-west coast of Turkey.
According to Police, the five friends had been drinking and friends of the killed teenagers said they had stopped by the airport's perimeter fence on their way back to look at the planes, and then all five of them decided to lay on the road to take a selfie with one of the planes in the background as it came into land.
But because it was already dark at 9pm, the truck driver didn't see them, and ran over two of the boys identified as Muhammet Bozkurt, 17, and Caglar Savasci, 19. The other three escaped disaster after managing to roll out of the way at the last minute.
