$200bn stolen money stashed in Dubai - Shehu Sani
Senator Shehu Sani (APC, Kaduna Central Zone) has alleged that corrupt
Nigerians have in the last 16 years stashed $200 billion in Dubai. Sen.
Sani said this while speaking with newsmen in Kaduna yesterday January
25th
“Corrupt Nigerians have stashed unbelievable amount of monies in Dubai alone in the name of estates acquisition, purchase of exotic houses and business partnership in the last 16 years. Some have stashed raw cash.
Italian man escapes corruption charge because bribe he offered was too small
Italy's top court has ruled that a man who offered €100 to cops is not
guilty of corruption because the sum is not substantial. The decision
may have also taken into cognizance the man's state of mind at the time,
as the man was caught driving under influence which made him offer the
bribe to escape arrest.The driver was however convicted of drunk
driving, which carries a fine of 6,200 euros, a suspended license for a
year and also a year in prison.

A safe was discovered hidden inside a Miami mansion that once
belonged
to notorious Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Construction workers
found the safe in the building's foundation during demolition.
The mansion, now owned by a restaurateur and a TV journalist, is
being removed to make way for a more modern building. It was
confiscated by the U.S. government in 1987 and sold at auction. The
current owners purchased it in 2014.

A 15-year-old asylum seeker has been arrested on suspicion of
murder after a refugee centre worker was stabbed to death in Sweden. Alexandra Mezher (pictured above)
was killed yesterday, January 25, while working at the refugee centre
for unaccompanied minors in the town of Molndal, near Gothenburg.
Sweden is a prime destination for refugees, and took in more than
160,000 asylum seekers in 2015..
